StableRust Primer

Orangeburg Poer & LightStableRust Primer is a water based surfactant-free primer used in direct metal applications to stabilize and protect metal surfaces.

Uses:
  • Direct to metal applications
  • Metal protection primer
  • Anticorrosion primer
  • Great stain blocker on other types of surfaces

Advantages & Benefits:

  • Excellent adhesion to all types of metal such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, steel (smooth, degreased, sand blasted, galvanized), aluminum and copper.
  • High film hardness with good blocking resistance
  • Excellent water resistance and resistance to salt spray.

Application Specifics:

Surface Preparation:

Mechanically remove all loose or flaking rust, laitance, grease or other contamination by scraping, blasting, or stiff bristle broom followed by a complete and aggressive power wash using a minimum of 3000 PSI water pressure. Make sure smooth steel has been degreased, and galvanized steel has been either allowed to weather or been pickled with a slightly acid solution such as vinegar.

Application:

StableRust Primer comes ready to use, however it must be vigorously shaken or stirred before application. Can be applied by brush, roller, or sprayer.
Coverage:
Coverage may vary due to surface condition of substrate. Average coverage is approximately 150-200 square feet per gallon.

Clean Up:

Thoroughly rinse application equipment with clean water.

Storage & Shelf Life:

StableRust Primer has a shelf-life of nine (9) months provided it is stored in tightly closed containers and protected from sunlight and stored at temperatures between 32º F (0C) and 100º F ((38C). Product older than 9 months can be used if it is found to pass relevant quality controls.
